What a great weekend of swimming at the 7th Annual Stu Hixon Invite for the RAYS! Over the course of the weekend there were over 100 new best times for the RAYS!!!! Overall it was a great weekend for the RAYS as we are now entering the Championship Season. The RAYS finished third at the 86th Ohio Valley Championships in Louisville, KY. The longest running swim meet in USA history. Great result. Alec Cohen won the 400 Fr in a new OVC record, beating the previous one set in 1999. Samantha Bosma was our other individual champion in the 50 Fr. Dara Torres will be at MVAC on Tuesday, May 20th! WHY: Raise awareness for the "Voices of Meningitis". She will do a Team meet & greet (photos, etc) followed by a swim where we can have 12 swimmers participate. WHO can attend: We have 100 invitations for the Stingrays Team slot. This past Sunday's Warren Stephen's 10 and under Championship meet was a HUGE success for our young RAYS swimmers! Best times were seen across the board, and major improvements in stroke technique and racing were seen as well. Equally (if not more) impressive was the way our RAYS swimmers stepped up to make this an all-around great meet for themselves, their teammates, AND their competitors by showing enthusiasm, good sportmanship, and respect for all those participating in the meet!
