The RAYS finished a superb 2008 Senior State at GA Tech this past weekend. The team atmosphere was electric and so was the swimming. Nationals are over for 2008 and the RAYS had their best one yet. This years meet was fast, but our young group of swimmers stepped up to the challenge and swam great. It is a tribute to all our swimmers, staff & volunteers that make our organization one of the best in the USA. USA SWIMMING BANS HIGH-TECH SUITS FOR YOUTH COMPETITORS (as reported by the Washington Post) USA Swimming banned the revolutionary, high-tech swimsuits for athletes 12 years old and younger. USA Swimming house of delegates voted to ban suits that extend past the neck, shoulders or knees. The ban will prevent children from competing in most versions of the partial- and full-body suits, but it does not include the so-called "jammers," close-fitting shorts that are extremely popular among boys. Youth swimmers also will be permitted to wear all versions of the suits...

The RAYS have 6 athletes qualified for Nationals this week at GA Tech (Thursday through Saturday). They are Adrienne Pilchard, Samantha Bosma, Courtney Cieselski, Kristine Polley, Erin Reisinger & Bryan Lundquist. Last year the RAYS finished 10th in the country at this meet.
